Susan Ward delievered another great book. This time it's about Kaley and Bobby. Geez, what a great book. Kaley falls for a boy that she is supposed to know, but doesn't remember. They fall madly in love. But she takes him on a wild ride as she blows up Alan's life with the truth that Chrissie didn't tell him.One day after all that mess, Bobby tells her that they're over even though they were in love. He tells her that he doesn't want to hold her back. That she should chase after her dreams while he goes after his. The inner torment inside of her as she's dragged along with her siblings by Alan to try to get to know his kids, leaving her mother behind. She's lost, confused and angry. At both her dad and Bobby. While away, missing her mother and Bobby, she tries to come to terms about Bobby and Alan. Poor girl, the men in her life sure confuse her and put her through the wringer.
Where does she stand with Bobby? What does she want? Should she go after him or just give up? Along the way, we see Chrissie and Alan from her point of view and understand how she feels.
The only confusing part was the dream part. I was confused to the point that I thought that chapter happened literally until the author pointed out that no, that chapter is all a dream. Then I realized, OH! Now I get it. Nice trick lol. I didn't really understand why they chose to take a few years off. Seems so random. But I was happy that there's a happily ever after for Kaley no matter what. That poor girl deserved it after all of the hell she went through.
What a great book, a tad confusing in the middle (the dream). But you'll enjoy it!

The Girl of Sand Fog Sand Fog Series Book 2 edition by Susan Ward Andrea McKay Sara Eirew Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I didn't finish this-as I started reading, it seemed nothing like the summary indicated. I didn't like the main character and deleted it.
My heavens, I haven't slept in two days. Reading all the stories. I feel as if I'm reading family history . And I can't put the books down. This one , again makes you cry, laugh, and just basically feel. ❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️🎼
I finished the Girl of Sand and Fog over a 2 day period. I've been in a book funk for about 2 weeks which is torture for me. I usually finish a book every day or two. How is any of this relevant you ask??? ;) Even picking up books by my favorite authors had proved useless in getting me back into reading. Weak plot points, undeveloped characters, drama on top of drama just for the sake of it... But I am so freaking happy that I can say Sand & Fog doesn't suffer from any of these symptoms. Susan's character developments are just as strong as previous releases and Kaley has a very distinct voice. Her turmoil is real. The way the plot is moving, I feel every bit of her despair for not having answers, not knowing how she belongs, just feeling lost.
We meet Bobby Rowan... Sexy, laid back and with such a cool demeanor there's no doubt that he's perfect for Kaley. Giving her calm and level headed advice even if it's not what Kaley wants to hear.
Zoe is a great friend to Kaley. Another person raised in the industry, she's a true friend and again, a voice of reason to some of Kaley's insecurities.
It's fantastic, though heartbreaking at times, to see the story of Alan and Chrissie from Kaley's POV. Alan warms my heart. Chrissie, from Kaley's POV, is spot on with her funny faces and rambling. I'm forever in love with Chrissie and Alan and will cherish any page time I get from those 2. The same can be said for Jack. His wisdom and funny quips are prevalent and much appreciated. )
The plot jumps a bit but it's relevant to the story and I felt invested every step of the way. The novella Rewind is included. All I can say is WOW. I am very impressed (and surprised) with how it was expertly woven into Sand & Fog.
Overall I loved it. LOVED IT. Pick up your copy today and remember why you fell in love with the Parker family. Because they are all awesome. ;)
Susan Ward gets it right, every. single. time!! Starting with The Girl On The Half Shell, I've read/One-clicked/devoured every book in this series {and her others, too} and I can tell you with confidence that you need to read them all! The Parkers are my favorite book family and, although their journey didn't always take the path I thought it would/should, every book is exactly what it needs to be. This one is no exception. Read it. READ THEM ALL! I PROMISE you will not be disappointed!!
Ups and downs keep you guessing most of the book. He wanted her to get to know her father but wasn't so sure about meeting his own. It took quite a while for the first baby but they over right along from there. I thought the dream would turn to reality. Oh well, it seems all good now.
I've become so invested with these characters from the Half Shell Series that I waited (not so patiently) for Kaley's book! And Susan Ward did not disappoint with this one! I loved Kaley from the start of the book! It was great to get inside her head and really understand why she behaved the way she did in the other series. There were times I wanted to strangle her, I wanted to cry with her, and then the LOL moments when she's dealing with Alan! OMG!! "Daddy, are we almost there? I'm bored." LMAO! Now I want more!! I want Bobby's book!
I LOVED THIS BOOK! I am absolutely in love with the characters from this Sand & Fog series (carried over from the The Half Shell series) - they are so REAL and touching and tragic, and Susan Ward does a great job of getting into each one of their heads and letting the reader get to know them through the stories, rather than having to "tell" everything about them. I can honestly say that Chrissie and Alan (and now Kaley) have been on my mind since I read the very first book (The Girl on the Half Shell)...hauntingly beautiful and broken. I wish I could write this well!
