Usually I love Mr. Kilian's period mysteries. But this have far too many characters and sub plots. His usually tightly crafted story is lost on a rambling, shambles or a tale. It is easily a 120 to 150 pages too, too long.
From the first page I was involved with the characters in this book. It is so descriptive it brings the reader right into the story and even though these events never really took place in my imagination I could see it proceeding as if it actually did. Well worth your time.
